Supporting a Family After a Loss

Sadly, two days before Christmas in 2016, Bobbie and Charlie Cameron lost their husband and father, Scotty Cameron. Unfortunately, along with the grief that Bobbie was experiencing, she also had to think about her financial situation. Without Scotty, she was struggling to stay on top of all the bills as well as the funeral costs.

A friend of the couple created a mycause fundraising campaign to help the mother and daughter and thankfully raised over $54,000 to go towards funeral and living expenses.

Frith Foottit was an amazing husband, father, doctor and friend who passed away unexpectedly in the first few hours of 2018, leaving behind his wife Renae, and their four children. His family has been devastated by the loss and needed help organising the funeral.

Hundreds of people rallied in support and raised over $46,000 for Frith’s funeral and for any unexpected costs his family might have to face.

Matthew Si had his life taken away at the young age of 33 in the horrific Bourke St incident that has affected many families. His wife and toddler son are heartbroken by the tragedy. Matthew was a devoted husband, loving father, brother and son. His wife Melinda is all alone with their son Matt now and struggling to stay afloat.

A friend decided to crowdfund for Matthew’s family and in an amazing show of support, the community raised almost $83,000 to help with expenses. https://www.mycause.com.au/page/143847/in-support-of-matthew-si-and-family-bourke-st-victim

On the 9th of November 2016 Emily McCaffrey lost her husband, and Patrick, Joseph, Louis and Finian lost their father. Gerard McCaffrey had battled with a brain tumor for years and had long periods of time where he could not work. Because of this, his family does not have much saved and his passing has been not only emotional, but financially straining.

Gerard and Emily’s siblings have banded together to raise money to help Emily and their four sons. Having raised almost $52,000 has helped the McCaffrey family immensely.
