Chelsea George, 10, has been fighting an aggressive form of leukaemia since late 2008 and has one last chance of survival.
The cancer has resisted chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants, so now Chelsea’s doctors will administer immunotherapy drug blinatumobab to Chelsea. Tony George, Chelsea’s father, has created a mycause campaign page to help with the medical and travel costs involved.
Chelsea’s mother, Melony told The Advertiser that she is amazed at just how strong Chelsea is as she fights for her life in hospital.
“She keeps going. You look at her and wonder how she does it because any adult would’ve given in by now.”
George from Murray Bridge has also been awarded the Pride of Australia medal for the Child of Courage.
