Basket Brigade to land helping hands

When Noosa local Trish Bignall saw just how much some of the locals were struggling to make ends meet and celebrate Christmas, she formed the Sunshine Coast branch of the Basket Brigade.

The aim of the group is to create baskets filled with gifts and food, which are then dropped off to families in need during what should be one of the happiest times of the year.

Trish told mysunshinecoast.com.au that despite the emotional toll it can take on people, the end-result was worth the effort.

“It can be quite emotional and I have cried in the car every now and then...but it does feel good to help.”
