Ella Hutton is a fourteen-year-old girl who loves to walk. Having walked long distances in the past, she has decided to start raising money for charities she cares about by walking even further.
On Sunday the 26th of August, Ella walked approximately 37 kilometres from Stratham to Busselton in Western Australia to raise money for Dolly’s Dream, a charity started by the parents of bullying victim Dolly Everett, in the hopes that what happened to their daughter would never happen again.
Ella feels close to this charity because she is a similar age to Dolly when she passed and realises that bullying is something that can make someone’s life miserable. Ella wants to make sure that kids like her can feel safe going to school.
In a show of support and solidarity, Ella’s mycause campaign quickly raised the $1,000 original goal, so Ella raised the goal to $2,000. Now, after her walk, the campaign has raised over $3,600 for Dolly’s dream.
Ella was so grateful for everyone’s generosity and hope to make her long walk an annual event, raising money for charities she finds important.
