Walking for a Cause

Holly McKay is undertaking the challenge of a lifetime this September to raise money for a charity close to her heart.

Four years ago, Holly’s little brother Lachlan sadly lost his fight with brain cancer. Holly, and her whole family, miss Lachlan very much. Holly wanted to do something good so children like her brother do not have to suffer the way he did, and so their families will not experience the loss she has, so she is raising money for Brainchild Foundation.

The Brainchild Foundation is a charitable organisation established in 2010 with the aim of helping children who are affected by brain and spinal cord tumours, and their families. Brainchild provides emotional, educational and financial support to families of children who have been diagnosed with tumours of the brain and spinal cord. Brainchild Foundation is also providing grants into groundbreaking projects aiming for better treatments and cures for childhood brain and spinal tumours.

In September, Holly will be walking the 67 kilometers from Caloundra to Noosa in Queensland. In preparation, Holly has been going on training walks for the last couple of months in order to build up to the fourteen-hour long walk.

Holly’s mycause campaign aims to raise $5,000 for Brainchild Foundation to help children and family’s like hers, and is well on the way to achieving the goal, thanks to the donations of friends and the community.

Holly is challenging herself and raising money for her cause, and so can you. Visit mycause.com.au to get started and raise much needed funds for a charity cause you care about.
