David Parsons recently lost his mother to Motor Neurone Disease, and after seeing her struggle with it, David wanted to do something so that people like his mother would not suffer so much. David decided to challenge himself to run 300 kilometers from Wangaratta to Melbourne in five days to raise money for MND Victoria, a charity that helps people like his mum.
David, along with three other team members, will be completing the run wearing funky swimming trunks and hope to raise at least $20,000 for MND Victoria and the people they help.
Radio personality and childhood friend of David's, Ryan Jon knew David's mother well and wanted to help as well, so he sat down with david and created a video to share with the world. In the video the two friends discuss David's upcoming run, and his mother's struggle with MND. At the end of the emotional video, Ryan asks the viewer to share and donate to David's mycause campaign.
Ryan’s video with David was shared hundreds of times, and has over 30 thousand views since being posted on the 18th of August, and David and his team have raised over $13,000 so far.
The video struck a chord with many people whose lives had been affected by Motor Neuron Disease. David hopes that the money he is raising will help those people with MND like his mother live more comfortable lives.
