Junee to host cyclists on Tour for Tanzania

Over 30 riders will pass through Junee as part of the Katoke Tour for Tanzania, a cycling tour raising funds for communities within Tanzania.

The cyclists will end their ride in Melbourne, after travelling through Junee and Lockhart.

In this case, the funds raised in this particular ride will go toward building a school dormitory for 80 students.

Event organiser David Lefcovitch told the Southern Cross that education is a “sustainable form of aid.”

“Our mission is to assist [with eqipping] people living in north-western Tanzania; who are caught in the poverty trap of subsistence living to break-free with education so they can take charge of and continue with their own development.”
