HE won our hearts with his big smile and courage — now Mannum youngster Zackary Walton needs our help to send him overseas for life-changing surgery.
The two-year-old was born with the rare Treacher Collins Syndrome, with a variety of medical challenges requiring ongoing operations including on his cheeks and jaw. He also has Grade 4 Microtia and Atresia — a complete absence of ears.
Tiny hearing aids from the Cora Barclay Centre have helped him hear some sound but his parents are now hoping a crowd-funding appeal will raise enough money to send their son to the United States for ear surgery.
