IT’S no surprise that the grandson of Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter is passionate about music.
And Carlton-based Wesley Brigham has now launched a crowdfunding campaign to set up a non-profit record label for indigenous artists.
Mr Brigham — who sings and raps — said he did not want to dictate what type of music the label R3AL! TY R3CORDS would release.
“A lot of the younger fellas are into hip hop. But we want to get the older fellas involved too, with more country style and classical R & B,” he said.
“Whatever people have inside them, I want to get it out there.”
Mr Brigham said funds raised would go towards establishing a space, buying recording equipment and associated costs including artist transport.
The label founder is aiming high and said he wanted to develop and support indigenous artists from around the world.
