Months of fundraising will culminate this Saturday night when Dine 4 Charity is held at Cessnock Leagues Club.
The event supports the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance.
One of the highlights will be the head shave by local businessman Clint Ekert, who has been growing his curly mop for a few months.
Clint shaved his head for charity 10 years ago when he was in high school, and while he hasn’t quite reached the ‘afro’ style that his schoolmates may remember, he says it’s worth parting with his hair for such a great cause.
If you can’t make it to the dinner, call into Balloon Worx or donate online at mycause.
Fit 4 Life Group and Personal Training has also come on board to support Dine 4 Charity, with a boot camp to be held at East End Oval on Thursday night.
The bootcamp will run from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and the cost is $10 per person, all of which will go to the charities.
A barbecue at Bunnings Warehouse on April 27, featuring My Kitchen Rules contestants Carly and Tresne, raised $1340 – a big boost towards the fundraising goal of $10,000.
After skydiving for the inaugural event (Jump 4 Charity) last year , which raised $12,000, organiser Anthony Burke said Dine 4 Charity will become an annual event.
About 190 people will attend the dinner, which promises to be a fun-filled night of entertainment with a magician, singers, dancers, auctions, raffles and more.
