Tributes Flow for Gold Coast Hang Glider Darren Rickertt

Tributes were flowing in from across the country when experienced pilot Darren Rickertt, 40, passed away after a hang gliding accident.

According to observers on the scene, Rickertt was competing in the Canungra Classic when he deviated from the group and crashed.

Close friend of Rickerett and fellow hang glider Ken Hill told the Gold Coast Bulletin that Rickertt was a natural hang gilder and a good man.

“He was such a likeable bloke and you would always feel better when you were around him.”
