The town of Cessnock, New South Wales will be celebrating the first birthday of a local restaurant, Burgerfiend, on Saturday the 21st of July. The event, held at Peden’s Hotel, will have stalls from several local businesses, including a pop up version of Burgerfiend. The event is to celebrate the community support the restaurant has received in its first year, as well as the owner’s charity head shave.
Matt and Marlene Fulham, the owners of the burger joint, are also raising money for two charities close to their hearts, Australian Cancer Research Foundation, and Bowel Cancer Australia.
Marlene’s mother sadly lost her fight against bowel cancer in 2012, so to raise more money for these amazing causes, Marlene has started a mycause campaign and decided to shave her head. The head shave will happen during the birthday celebration with the Cessnock community there to support Marlene and her husband, as they have for the last year with the restaurant.
