A community in Briagolong braved the cold on Sunday the 8th of June to raise money for an important cause, MND Victoria.
Timing the challenge to lead into the FightMND Big Freeze 4 fundraiser at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on the 11th of June, the town had its own ice bucket challenge fundraiser at the Briagolong RSL log cabin.
Heading up the event was the Wagstaff family, for whom MND is hereditary, they raised money for care and support for people living with motor neurone disease,
Briagolong RSL president Mark Wagstaff and the challenge’s main organiser, Candice Wagstaff, were among the dunkees, as well as various family members getting behind the cause.
Emily Wagstaff, daughter of Mark and Candice, astonished the whole community when at aged just seven she walked 36 kilometers in three weeks to raise money, a kilometer for every person in the area suffering from MND. Emily raised more than $2,600 through her mycause campaign.
