A group of cyclist friends from Ballarat are paying tribute to their late friend Rob Pitman who unfortunately lost his battle with MND.
It was very difficult for Rob’s friends to see him go from an avid rider to suddenly using a walker to get around and then passing away in early July, only nine months after being diagnosed with MND.
Tavis Baker (pictured) and Peter Kiel, two of Rob’s close friends have organised a breakfast at St Patrick's College Pavilion with all food, facilities and organisation donated to ensure 100 per cent of the money they raise will help MND Victoria.
The two are also planning a separate 600-kilometre road ride from the group’s favourite cafe base Europa out to Learmonth where they will ride loops of the area before returning to Europa.
Rob’s friends want to raise awareness of MND in the cycling community and broader Ballarat and have made the breakfast, which will be held on August 17, 8.30-11.30am, open to anyone who wishes to attend, learn and donate.
