Julie Baird and her husband Bill have owned the Maiden Gully Cafe and have been a part of the Maiden Gully community for the last seven years, and since losing a friend to MND, have become great supporters of, and fundraisers for MND Victoria.
Although Bill has been diagnosed with Parkinson's and as a result the couple have had to sell their cafe, their community has come together to support them, and while Bill is not able to participate in this year's Kokoda Trail Challenge for MND Victoria, Julie will still be forging ahead.
Firends have donated over $17,000 to Julie's fundraising page prior to her undertaking the challenge in May and she is so grateful to "the Maiden Gully community that's helped [her] raise the money."
