At just 14 months old, little Rafael Komarenko's life will be cut short by cancer in his lungs and bones.
Rafael was born with a cancerous tumour on his back and has been receiving chemotherapy since birth.
Rafael's mother, Stella Schubert, told the Geelong Advertiser that Rafael had been developing well before he became ill once again.
"Just before his cancer relapsed, he was making leaps and bounds in his development and started for the first time learning how to eat, learning how to sit and crawling backwards."
