Digging deep for a special trio

All three boys in the Faggotter family  — Lockie, Charlie and Hayden — have Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy.

This terrible genetic disorder affects approximately one in every 3500 live male births across the world.

Close family friend Anne-Marie Seagrim is determined to support the family any way that she can — she started a mycause campaign to raise funds for the family’s move to Stirling North.

The move will place the Faggotters in closer proximity to their doctor and family.

“As a family they are really just still coming to terms with this news,” said Anne-Marie to The Transcontinental.

“However the long term outlook is not a good one, as this disease has no cure and all three children will end up in wheelchairs as the muscles fade and they may need help to breathe.”
