The answer is simple. To prevent one more person from hearing that diagnosis "Melanoma Cancer". It changes lives forever. Not only for the person who is diagnosed but for their whole tribe.
I was diagnosed at the age of 38. A partner, a mother of three, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a neighbour. I was one of the rare cases of having Stage III melanoma cancer without a primary. Yep, no primary. Straight into my lymphatic system.
Melanoma does not discriminate. Healthy and fit it took over my body without much warning.
There was only one person who would be raising my children and that was me. Now I am here to turn a negative into a positive and to spread the word "Get a skin check".
