The Cause
This ride aims to raise funds for the Eucalypt Workplace and Training centres run by the Eucalypt association.
This arm of operation provides post-school training opportunities for people who have disabilities and are not able to work in open employment without support. It offers Alternatives to Employment under the DSC Post School Options program where the focus is on life skills training. The other aspect within the program is supervised work contracts (paid employment).
The Challenge
Starting in Albany, WA and travelling to Perth, WA, the riders will be travelling over 612km in just 5 short days. With a combined elevation of 5000m of climbing, this ride will be a challenge for even the seasoned cyclist.
With that distance and elevation combined, riders will spend an estimated 5+hours on the bike each day, totalling 25hours over the gruelling 5 day journey.
