HELP US TACKLE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN OUR REGION!
Be part of history! Join us to say NO to domestic violence!
Saturday 3rd September 2016 from 9am to 11.30am at Hunter Stadium
Are you saddened by the continual stories of violence, terrorist attacks and increasing incidents of domestic violence in our community?
Be part of the ‘peaceful majority’! Come and unite with us and 1000 people together at Hunter Stadium to say 'No' to domestic violence and help us raise funds to support those women and children who are escaping a violent home. It's time for us to be heard and that we want peace to be the 'new normal', not violence!
We will be making a collection of still images and videos, to be used in a social media campaign, television commercial, and print advertisements encouraging our community to take a stand.
This event is being organised by the charity arm of The Sista Code, Got Your Back Sista, in collaboration with White Ribbon and our community. Photos and video will be used to build awareness about the shocking regularity of domestic violence in our community with the hope of stamping it out.
We invite individual members of the community and organisations of staff/members/volunteers/stakeholders to participate as a team in the event and raise group donations.
You can participate as an individual or a team – registration is $30 per person** All welcome - Kids are free.
** If you are unable to pay the registration donation, we still want you to come! Please email us at info@thesistacode.com to register.
BRING ALONG YOUR KIDS FOR A MORNING OF FUN!!
There will be entertainment for the kids and a sausage sizzle!
PARTICIPATION
To participate in this event, you just need to register and pay a registration of $30. You will receive a Participant Pack for the event which includes:
- t-shirt to wear at the event
- a bottle of water
- bumper stickers
- numerous store vouchers and passes.
We also ask that you make a donation for the charity Got Your Back Sista if you can.
MONEY RAISED FROM THIS EVENT WILL GO TOWARD 2 X PROJECTS CREATING MORE CRISIS ACCOMMODATION BEDS FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN ESCAPING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY.
REGISTER
- To register, click on the Register Now button on the right hand side of the screen. You can register as an INDIVIDUAL or as a TEAM.
- On the My Cause website you will be asked to create an account.
- Once you have created your account, you can set up a Fundraising Page to help you raise donations and help women and children who have escaped domestic violence.
SHARE YOUR PAGE
You can share your online Fundraising Page with your friends, family and work mates by email, Facebook or Twitter. Your friends can sponsor you and leave a message. Your donors will receive their donation receipt immediately.
