Rob Paterson was hit by a semi-trailer in 1991 and rendered a paraplegic for life after having a very active lifestyle, which included running a fitness centre.
Rob, now 49, has recently been offered a place to compete in the 2015 Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii in October.
In an interview with the Herald Sun, Rob admits that competing in the 42.2km marathon is “insane”, but says that he is ready for the challenge.
“People have all sorts of challenges in life,” he told journalist Rebekah Cavanagh. “You adapt and you get on with it.”
