MEDIA: ‘Old blokes driving for a Cancer cure’

fundraising road trip

In late April this year, the NSW town of Mudgee will welcome a special convoy.

A group of car enthusiasts from Sydney will drive their Classic cars through the town as they raise funds for cancer research via their mycause fundraising page.

The six ‘old blokes’– Mario Nearchou, Harry Moustakas, Nick Harris, Michael Skyllas, John Assarapin, and Bob Hickman –  have joined forces for a 5-day road trip they hope will raise up to $50,000 for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation

So far, the gentlemen have raised over $6,000.

ACRF provides scientists with the technology and equipment they need to find new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat all types of cancer.

“We are proud to support this incredible organisation in their efforts to back brilliant cancer research projects across Australia,” Mario told the Mudgee Guardian.

“I hope one day we see a world free of [cancer].”

Mario explains they are fully funding their road trip through far west NSW themselves.

Mudgee, set in the picturesque Cudgegong River Valley, is known for its gourmet experiences and beautiful countryside.
