Not-So-Tiny Fundraiser Sweeps Canberra by Storm

Charity fundraisers have been around for a long time so it’s no surprise that some people are challenging the usual way of fundraising by thinking outside the box.

One such person, Goran 'Tiny' Srejic from Canberra, thought of a unique fundraising idea that has never been done in Australia before.

Tiny is known as a leading philanthropist in Canberra, who along with his business partners has donated over $1 million to local charities across the state over the past 10 years.

‘Tiny’s Car Challenge’ was launched in July 2020, encouraging people to raise as much money for a charity of their choice from 1 August – 7 September.

The top 20 fundraisers will have a chance to drive away with a brand-new Volkswagen Polo 2020 valued at $22,000, annual registration and insurance included.

The twist? The top 20 fundraisers or their nominated person must be the last one standing with their hand still on the car to win the grand prize.

The second runner up will not be leaving empty-handed as they will be prized with $5,000 provided by the fundraiser’s local sponsors.

Tiny is encouraging that through this fundraiser, local charities will participate and generate donations to give back to communities most impacted by the pandemic.

So far, the fundraising event has taken Canberra by storm raising over $75,117 and continues to climb.

The car challenge will be held on 3 September at the Canberra Outlet Centre where the 20 fundraisers will be spaced out among 3 cars to maintain social distancing.

Tiny’s Car Challenge proves that there are still new and creative ways to put the ‘fun’ back into fundraising!
