Northcote family follows up ice bucket challenge with ice bucket toast

Northcote mother Colleen Clarke and her eight-year-old daughter Sarah will be participating in an “ice bucket challenge with a twist” on Saturday to honour their husband and father, Stephen Clarke.

Stephen succumbed to MND — an incurable, degenerative motor neurone disease — after enduring a three year battle with the disease.

Mrs Clarke told the Northcote Leader that MND had “taken the future we had planned.”

“I want this to be a lovely way to celebrate Steve’s life and remember him [while] raising awareness of MND and helping make sure other people don’t have to go through it.”
