MMA Fighter Battles Life-Threatening Staph Infection, Seeks Support through Fundraising Efforts

In a concerning turn of events, Queensland native MMA fighter Tim Schultz is currently battling a severe staph infection in Thailand that has reached his bone, putting his leg at risk of amputation. Schultz's friend, UFC women's flyweight prospect Casey O'Neill, took to Twitter to share the alarming news, expressing concern that Schultz may never be able to fight again.

 

The infection's rapid spread has led to a dangerous decline in Schultz's blood pressure and oxygen levels, posing an imminent threat to his well-being. The exorbitant medical bills have depleted his financial resources, leaving him unable to afford the essential care and procedures necessary for his recovery.

 

Known for his willingness to help others, Schultz humbly appeals for assistance, recognising that even the strongest individuals sometimes need support from those around them. Donations received will directly contribute to covering hospitalisation expenses, emergency treatments, surgeries, medications, and now a trip back to Australia to continue his treatment. 

 

Providing updates on his condition through Instagram, Tim shares images showcasing the severity of his injury as well as any updates on new medical bills that arise as the situation get more complocated. 

 

Tim's current goal is to raise $100,000 dollars to take care of all his medical expenses and fly back to Australia, his mycause fundraising page has already raised an astonishing $20,022, breaking his previous target of $18,000. 

 

Every contribution, regardless of size, will play a vital role in Schultz's fight against this life-threatening infection. The support received will not only aid in restoring his health but also alleviate the immense emotional burden Tim currently faces.
