In a heart-wrenching incident on Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd at Birnam, two 17-year-old boys, Jimmy Bowie and Ben Grahame, lost their lives in a devastating two-vehicle crash. The Gold Coast and Scenic Rim communities are united in grief as they remember the vibrant spirits of these young individuals.
Paramedics rushed to the scene of the head-on collision on Sunday at approximately 6:15 pm, but tragically, Jimmy Bowie and Ben Grahame succumbed to their critical injuries at the crash site. The collision occurred as both teenagers were driving in opposite directions on a rural Queensland road.
“It’s an absolute tragedy,” said Assistant Commissioner Charysse Pond to 7 News when asked about the incident at the launch of Operation Auster.
Jimmy Bowie, a senior in high school from Palen Creek, is fondly remembered by his friends as a "beautiful boy." Tributes pour in on social media, with heartfelt messages expressing the profound impact he had on those around him.
