21-year-old Sydney university student, Neilab is one of the many people impacted by the Taliban takeover crisis in Afghanistan.
Neilab's whole extended family is from the capital city of Kabul at the center of the chaos and is trying desperately to support them in their time of need.
"My parents and I have sent a large portion of money, however, it is sadly not within our means to give the assistance we would like to all 30 of our family members and their community," says Neilab.
Now the young Afghan Australian is turning to crowdfunding to help her families and the wider community impacted by the devastating Taliban regime takeover.
The Sydney community has been actively outpouring their love, support and solidarity to the people affected in Kabul and Afghanistan through various fundraising efforts.
Within a matter of days, Neilab's fundraising campaign, "Help my family in Afghanistan" has raised over $4,500. View Neilab's fundraiser HERE.
Beyond Neilab's fundraising efforts, she has also been actively taking a stand for the Afghan community in Australia.
Neilab has spent over 100 hours of her free time processing the migration visas for her family members from Kabul.
She is lobbying that the Australian government to make the humanitarian visa application process easier, as other countries have.
"[It] is quite difficult and complicated and requires a lot of documentation that, in my opinion, people who have been in a war for 43 years do not have," she said.
Neilab wants to continue being the voice of the voiceless people back in her home country.
Neilab was featured on The Daily Telegraph and ABC News to share her fundraising story.
