Colleen Doble has committed to running 21 kilometers at the Townsville Running Festival in August to raise money for Ariana Clews, the daughter of tennis coaches Brad and Taylor, who coach Colleen's son, as well as many other children and adults.
Colleen is grateful to Brad and Taylor for investing their all when coaching and improving the lives of children like her son, so when she found out that their daughter, affectionately called Ari, was unlikely to ever walk, she wanted to do something.
Ari was born fourteen weeks premature, and as a result suffered from many complications, having her first surgery at just five days old. Ari has overcome some of her conditions, but doctors still say she will have trouble walking, talking or making facial expressions.
Colleen has asked her community to help her help Ari by donating a dollar for every kilometer she is going to run in August and hopes to raise $10,000 through a mycause campaign which will go towards treatment and surgery that Ari desperately needs.
