News of the New South Wales droughts affecting farmers has spread to every corner of Australia, and people have been putting their hands up to help left and right. The small community of Coonamble, New South Wales is no exception. The owners of the local Bucking Bull Hotel are offering free accommodation and a cold beer to any truck driver passing through to deliver drought relief supplies.
The small central western town, although also experiencing the drought themselves, is welcoming and generous to anyone who is helping farmers stay on their feet. Wanting to raise the spirits of those affected, members of the town are also organising a Rain Dance Ball, which will take place in October. The town will gather for a night of fun, and hopefully some rain.
In conjunction with the Rain Dance, a mycause campaign has been set up to gather more funds for the many farmers who are struggling to feed their animals during the drought. It is truly heart-warming to see people coming together and helping each other in times of trouble.
