MEDIA: Enthusiastic Girl Selected for State Hockey Team

Shanaye Cooper started playing hockey at the age of 10 and fell in love with it. Two years later she discovered that she was an incredible goalkeeper when she was asked by her coach to start playing with the older girls instead.

Now, at age 14 Shanaye has been selected as a goalkeeper for the Under 15’s Western Australia state wide hockey team!

Up until recently, Shanaye’s mother drove her to practices and games many times a week, but after she began to experience severe neck pain, Shanaye’s mother has been told she requires surgery and cannot work for the foreseeable future.

Because of this, Shanaye has decided to create a fundraising campaign to raise the money she needs for her uniform and flights, accommodation and transport for the championship in April.

We wish Shanaye and her team the best of luck for the championship!
