MEDIA: Crowdfunding for Damien's Legacy

Carmel Harrington is a biochemist who has experienced the trauma of losing her dear infant son, Damien, when he died very suddenly in his sleep. When the same occurred to her friend's baby daughter three years later, Carmel immediately resigned from her job as a lawyer and set to work trying to understand the causes of sudden infant death syndrome and similar issues.

Two months agao and three decades after her son's tragic death, Carmel has made an important breakthough. Her research has revealed a potential biomarker for infants at risk of SIDS.
