MEDIA: Bringing Amy Home

Amy Parson, 35, had been living in London since 2012, but on Sunday the 28th of April was tragically found beaten to death in her fifth floor flat that she shared with her long-term boyfriend.

Roderick Deakin-White, 37, was arrested later that day on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend Amy and faces court for a second time on Wednesday the 1st of May for a bail hearing.

While the wheels of justice turn and this domestic abuser is hopefully locked away for a very long time, friends of Amy’s have created a mycause fundraising campaign to raise the money Amy’s mother Leonie needs to fly to London and bring Amy’s body home to Melbourne, to be laid to rest properly.

It is truly heartwarming to see that friends, family and the wider community came to the Parsons’ help so quickly, donating the $20,000 they needed in only 3 hours.

Donations continue to roll in and have reached over $25,000 within the first day of the campaign being created. Amy’s friends have pledged to donate any contributions over the $20,000 the Parsons family needs towards prevention work to create a future free from violence.
