MEDIA: 24 Hour Bike Ride for Mental Health

Simon Rickeard, a 23 year old Wentworth Falls landscaper has ridden his friend’s bike for (almost) 24 hours straight to raise money for Headspace and their youth mental health programs.

On March 6th at 7am, Simon began his ride on a borrowed bike, as his was being repaired at the time. Simon rode with only a couple of short breaks for 24 hours, finishing his ride at 7am the following day, all to raise money for a cause that was important to him.

Simon told the Blue Mountains Gazette that he decided to undertake this challenge "because of all the things that have been going on recently with COVID affecting people's lives, especially their mental health, so headspace is a perfect charity for that as they deal with early intervention mental health services for 12-25 year olds"

With his father, and a few friends, on board as a pit crew, following Simon during the ride, the young man raised $500 so far for Headspace.
