An 8 year old's fundraising challenge for charity has caught the attention of the media and the hearts of the community.
Keyarn B, from Queensland, is paying it forward this Saturday by doing a 24-hour Handball Challenge for charity.
Keyarn was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth, as well as coeliac disease.
Recently, he was diagnsoed with a rare and progressive bone disease. It is so rare that only 2 other Australians are affected by it.
Keyarn has spent most of 2020 in a wheelchair. He received much care and support that has inspired him to give back.
In his determination to help others, he decided to put his efforts towards supporting the people who have helped him.
Keyarn is limited with what sports he can play due to limited physical capability, but he LOVES to play handball.
He has organised many delegates and supporters so they can together acheive the 24 hours of handball.
Tickets are free, with a gold coin donation being asked for to support the cause.
The event will also be livestreamed via The Carers Foundation YouTube channel.
With much community support, Keyarn's campaign exceeded his initial $750 goal by raising over $8,500 and climbing.
Since setting up his fundraising challenge, Keyarn has gained media attention on the Today Show, ABC Radio and Channel 11 News.
All funds raised will help The Carers Foundation care for unpaid carers by providing unique wellness programs to support their emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing.
