Law Enforcement across WA took on a chilly challenge again last Saturday for the Polar Plunge 2022. Teams of police and volunteers plunged into freezing waters to raise money for the Special Olympics.
The event, created by the Law Enforcement Torch Run WA, was officially held at Hillary’s Boat Harbour in Perth on Saturday 6 August. The Law Enforcement Torch Run WA works to support people with intellectual disabilities by raising awareness and funds for Special Olympics WA.
Geraldton police, cadets, and rangers all joined the cause, leaping into the freezing local foreshore. The team of 25 contributed a fantastic $1,100 to the more than $30,000 raised in total this year.
“The much-needed funds raised from the Polar Plunge will greatly benefit people with intellectual disabilities and Special Olympics athletes in Western Australia by helping to provide more sporting programs, events, equipment, sports coaches and participation medals.”
