mycause re-imagines charity fundraising event technology

After taking almost one year to build and many sessions spent working out how to create the best user experience possible, the mycause events platform is here. mycause has thousands of signed charity partners and is delighted to launch a beautiful platform with a range of features. Anyone can make a long-lasting difference by creating a team or even starting an event to help the people - and causes - close to their heart.

What new features will be on the events platform?

mycause Founder and Managing Director Tania Burstin says the new platform is set to be a game changer, and will have a significant effect on the Australian charity fundraising sector.

“We’ve taken all our learning over the last seven years and all of the client requests and changes in the environment to re-imagine the entire platform from the ground up,” says Tania.

“This is the first platform that lets people raise money for an individual or a charity at the same time.”

“You can add as many charities as you want - you can even decide which charity is compulsory,” explains Tania.

New user interface changing the way events are run

mycause is also changing what registered users can do within the event dashboard, making the interface more responsive than ever before.

“A registered user is no longer restricted in who they can register for an event. They can now login and register multiple participants, and they can do this multiple times - they can come back later as well.”

What new design features will be available?

There will also be new design features that event participants will be able to use, such as fully responsive templates which can be personalised and updated with ease.

Four of these beautiful templates will be available for immediate use.

“You can pop in your images, update your text and you’re good to go on what are effectively four beautiful websites. If you want to get more creative, there are a lot of design tools that are available,” adds Tania. “It’s as easy as drag and drop.”

You can also incorporate design elements such as images, text boxes, lines and colour blocks into your event page, with more templates also on the way.

Ease of use for event managers and participants

The new events platform has a completely redesigned dashboard, which is where the event managers can edit the details and provide updates to teams as the event progresses.

“Every event comes with its own dashboard, so the event manager can easily see how much money has been raised, how many fundraisers are active, how many people have registered, how many teams are on the go - all of that is at your fingertips in the dashboard,” says Tania.

Our new user dashboard and technological advances provide users with a fresh new experience, changing the way Australians raise funds and run events in their communities.

“Families can now join teams and people can register multiple participants at one time, without going out and paying and coming back - this is groundbreaking,” remarks Tania.

“Our registration fees are separate from donations and can go to separate entities, which is also not done by others,” adds Tania.

“The registration fee can go to the event manager, while the event donation can go to the charity.”

How much will it cost?

“mycause is the only platform that allows our charity partners free use of the platform, with the commission base of 5% plus bank fees, as long as you link to us on your website,” said Tania.

“A lot of other event platforms charge a fair amount of money to set up the events as well - we don’t do that”.

The rates will remain unchanged for anyone who creates an event with mycause.

mycause is constantly improving the online fundraising experience for donors and event/campaign creators, with more event and cause crowdfunding integrations on the way.
