In September of 2014, my husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer, at the age of 37. We were blindsided by the diagnosis, especially after being told repeatedly that Steve was too young to have bowel cancer.
Steve is currently undergoing treatment (radiation and chemotherapy), will have surgery to remove the tumour in January 2015, and additional chemotherapy as a follow up for 4 months afterwards.
I want to raise money and awareness of this little discussed cancer, by shaving my head! Granted, my hair is not down to my waist, but it's still long enough that shaving it all off is going to be a challenge!

UPDATE: We did it! Steve and I both shaved our heads on Friday! Thank you so much to everyone who donated, we've raised an incredible $7,000 for Bowel Cancer Australia! We're gobsmacked.
