Baby Grace

November 20th: My lovely sister Jane had her first baby at the Calmette Hospital, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Jane had undiagnosed complications of pregnancy that meant that she had to have an emergency caesarian when she was only 31 one weeks pregnant.

Born nearly 10 weeks early Jane's baby, Adaeze Grace lgwebuike, weighed only 765 grams at birth. Grace is a determined little girl and can breathe by herself for up to half an hour at a time, but she requires costly specialist intensive care and will be in hospital for many weeks.

Jane and her husband Christian are grateful for the kind support they have received from family, friends and community, but Grace has a long way to go, and any help you can provide would make a real difference.

December 4th: Adeaze Grace is two weeks old today! She is doing really well, digesting her mother's milk, and gaining weight. Tomorrow Jane is able to start having skin to skin contact with Grace, and for the first time she and her husband Christian will be able to hold their tiny daughter for the first time.

Jane and Christian have been touched and humbled by the donations and kind words they have received so far. Thank you.

December 5th: Adeaze has passed away early this morning. She contracted an infection and crashed and was not able to be resuscitated. Thank you all for all your help over the last 2 weeks.
