Koby "Lil Legend" Stacey our little brother, our partner in crime our inspiration
Less than a month out from his 1st birthday After what started as an X-ray on Koby's chest for other reasons doctors found a large lump at the back up against his spine. Koby was flown to Brisbane Australia first thing the next day. After a whirlwind week and a half Koby have had biopsy's, bone scans, bone marrow testing, blood testing and MRI's, Kobys parents Damon and Kylie had received the diagnosis from there doctors. Mum and Dads little 13 month old boy has cancer. They were absolutely devastated. The good news is it hasn't yet attached to the spinal cord and has not spread anywhere else in his tiny little body. It is a less aggressive cancer called "ganglioneuroblastoma". Less than 5 in a million kids are diagnosed with this type each year. The doctors are optimistic with the success rate of the treatment. Koby's first round of chemo was 30/10/2014. Koby is having two rounds three weeks apart then reassessing how the lump is responding to treatment.
Damon, Kylie and little Koby have a long road ahead of them but with everyone's support and donations doesn't matter how big or how small every bit counts to help Koby kick this rare cancers butt.
