Run For Brooke

On Sunday October 12 I completed my second Melbourne Marathon but this time I ran for a purpose. A good friend of mine Brooke Thompson who I ran the Melbourne Marathon with in 2012, at only 30 years of age has sadly been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. For those of you that know Brooke would know she has the strength and courage to take this disease head on and beat it! She will be faced with some big challenges along the way physically, mentally and lastly financially. As the Marathon is 42.195 km The original goal was to raise $4,219.50 to help Brook with her treatment, but the overwhelming kindness from Brooke's friends and family had us past that goal in less than 24 hours! The next goal was set at $10,000 and we reached that on day 2! Then we set a really big and bold goal and aimed for $20,000, we achieved that in a week. Now lets see if we can make it to $25,000. We have set up this fundraising page through mycause.com.au so if you have a spare few dollars it would be fantastic if we can reach this target together. The Marathon has been and gone but I will keep the fundraising page up well after the event.
