About

Welcome to Project Orang-utan – The Exhibition

Project Orang-utan – The Exhibition is a Fundraising Art Exhibition featuring artist from Australia Wide with the intention to raise awareness of the plight of the Orang-utans and their habitat and to raise much needed funding for the International Animal Rescue Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre in Ketapang Indonesian Borneo.

This exhibition will showcase a collection of artworks created by Australian Artists. Each artist has been paired with one of the Orang-utans currently in the centres care, creating a body of work that expresses the unique personalities and idiosyncrasies of these beautiful primates reflected through the artists eye.

My name is Jessica Warwick and I am passionate about the conservation and preservation of our adorable redheaded primates the Orangutans. I recently returned from volunteering at the International Animal Rescue (IAR) Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in West Kalimantan in Indonesian Borneo. My experience during this time opened up my eyes my heart and my mind to the world that these primates live in. Over the last five years I have been an active participant in fundraising and raising awareness of the plight of endangered orangutans and their rainforest habitat. Since my return from this life changing experience in Borneo, I am even more determined to do as much as I can for our orange cousins.

I am currently seeking donations to help with exhibition costs for this project. Donations will go towards helping pay for framing, printing and marketing for this fundraising exhibition. Hopefully with the right marketing and a professional looking exhibition we can bring in the right kind of person to buy these amazing orang-utan inspired art pieces. Together with your help hopefully we can reach our target of raising $50,000 for the International Animal Rescue Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Ketapang Borneo.
