Beyoncé G-Spot Memorial Float - 2015 Sydney Mardi Gras

In honour of our dear friend and talented drag artist Beyoncé G-Spot (known by friends as Zaine Fierce, or to family as Mark) and in celebration of his magnificent life we plan to create the biggest, most sparkling, most fabulous tribute float for the upcoming 2015 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade. Based on the multi-DIVA award winning drag show "The Little Merdrag", our "under the sea" themed float will revisit the popular stage production (based on the well known fairy tale "The Little Mermaid") from Stonewall Hotel in 2007, carrying the message "Part of Your World", a message that is close to all our hearts.

On Sunday, the 14th of September, 2015, Stonewall Hotel hosted a fundraiser event to help bring our Mardi Gras concept to fruition. Along with some performances of the biggest names in Sydney drag, "The Little Merdrag" was presented for one night only as tribute to our late friend. The night proved a success, raising nearly $3,000 for our float, and subsequently won a 2014 DIVA Award for Outstanding DIVA Moment.
