My sister questioned what was the point in having pinky toes....I decided to post a pic of my pinky toe for fun and encouraged others to share. But thought perhaps there could be more of a purpose to this. So I'm setting a challenge, for every Pinky Toe pic posted on the Facebook Page is a min $2 donation (Tax deductable) towards cancer research for children. Lets give our Pinkys a real purpose and make a difference to these beautiful children's lives. ************************************************************* Each dollar raised since 1993 by the My Room Volunteer committee has gone towards and continues to towards clinical and cancer research endeavours as well as providing much needed support to children with cancer and their families in Victoria.
My Room is a registered non for profit charitable institution with DGR status and our volunteer committee has raised over $16 million dollars between December 1993 to December 2012.
My Room’s pledge is to support research and clinical care and help to improve outcomes for childhood cancer in Victoria.
My Room support includes: providing family support facilities, the training and availability of specialised social workers, education and in-service activities of all staff and the ongoing support of fundamental laboratory research, the redevelopment of the Children’s Cancer Centre, assistance with operational expenditure requirements of the Children’s Cancer Centre and the funding of research initiatives through the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Many of these activities simply would not have been possible without the assistance of My Room and our generous supporters, volunteers and donors.
My Room Children’s Cancer Charity is a volunteer led organisation, working together to support patients and families affected by cancer, without the bureaucracy. We rely on the generosity of our donors to fund support for families, medical equipment, clinical care, research and trials.
