David McKenna was a much beloved friend, father and husband, who tragically died much too early. We all loved his energy, passion and self-discipline. Despite his bi-polar disorder, our strongest memories of David are as a joyful, kind and caring friend to all that knew him.
David leaves behind his beautiful loving wife Jess and two young boys Jack and Alex.
In order to mark David’s life and his chapters in Australia, we have come together as a circle of friends to ‘Swim for David’. We are aiming to swim for 37 kilometers to mark the short 37 years David lived for.
Our families are going to swim and paddle from Shelly beach to Manly, which are some of the Australian Beaches that were very dear to David.
David’s passion for Australia and many happy days he spent here will be remembered and marked here at an intimate memorial we are holding on the day of the swim at the headland over looking the ocean that David greatly loved.
The swim will be held on Sunday 24th November.
Any donations in support of this swim are going towards a trust fund for David & Jess’ beautiful boys.
