Marathon for Michelle

On Sunday October 13th, 2013 I will be attempting to run in my first 42km Melbourne Marathon with my goal to complete the journey in under 4 hours. Running a full marathon is a goal I have always wanted to achieve and I decided 2013 would be the year.
My cause and motivation to run this crazy distance is to raise as much money as possible to help cover medical bills for my sister in law Michelle, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last October, 2012 aged only 36.

Breast cancer is a life changing disease that has turned Michelle's world around. 2013 has been a year of doctors appointments, surgeries, treatments, chemotherapy, hair loss, bed rest and life uncertainty.
Unable to go back to work and do the things she loves to do on a daily basis, Michelle is slowly on her road to recovery with her final breast surgery scheduled for December 2013. Slowly growing her hair back and gaining more energy, Michelle has had to endure a double mastectomy, months of chemotherapy and while meeting her man Alex 6 months prior to being diagnosed underwent IVF treatment in the hope that one day they can have children together. Michelle is a fighter and an inspiration. She is optimistic she can win this fight and if we can help relieve any financial stress involved, it would allow Michelle to concentrate on her road to recovery and look forward to 2014.

All money raised will go directly towards helping Michelle with the expensive cost of medical bills surrounding this horrible disease.
Any size donation will be greatly appreciated and it will give myself great motivation and encouragement to get across the finish line in October knowing there is so much support.
