We are raising funds for our Annual Community Christmas Lunch.
When: Wednesday 25th December 2024 Time: 11am -3pm/later if needed Where: Desert Knowledge Precinct Treat me Good cafe 475 Stuart Highway, Kilgariff
This will be our 5th Year running where we’ve either opened our doors to the community or been able to feed families who are really doing it tough.
The reason we do this is simple. It’s needed. Through the year we are constantly feeding families and helping with food hardship. We know Christmas is a time where it’s extremely difficult financially for families and also can be quite an isolating time.
During Christmas many critical services leave town for holidays / have only skeleton staff who can not service the needs adequately and it becomes near impossible to help everyone.
We want this year to be a year where families and individuals can have a Christmas Day together that’s hosted by us just like a big family Christmas Day.
We offer a traditional cold Christmas lunch with Christmas Ham, salads, bread roll, desserts & drinks(non alcoholic). We’d like to be able to play games with the kids, have music and have a relaxed day with everyone and get to know each other, catch up with old mates / meet someone new.
In a small town like ours it’s important we gather and get to do this. We know the importance of connection and at times people can get lost and go unnoticed.
All donations are used to go towards Christmas lunch any access is pushed over to creating food hampers for families who are in significant hardship.
Costs such as - Food, transport, decorations, presents, disposables, costs to have rubbish taken away etc.
Lunch is open to EVERYONE & ANYONE. Come as you are.
All cost break downs will be made public for donors and as a matter of transparency.
We also accept donations - Food Time Baked goods Vegetables Entertainment / services Presents for children
Blessings to you all.
