The Keep K'gari Clean project is a community driven project that aims to provide an ongoing solution to the plastic pollution problem on K'gari Fraser Island.
We have long been passionate about caring for country and have hosted many beach clean ups in our years of hosting tours and stays on K’gari. It’s been inspiring to see just how many people care for this magical place so much so that they want to roll up their sleeves to help Keep K’gari Clean.
We have hosted more than 500 hundred volunteers since 2018 but it’s not enough, K’gari needs more help to stay free from marine debris and we have a plan to help do just that because this plastic problem is sadly here to stay.
Will you join us in raising much needed funds to kick start the Keep K’gari Clean Project?
Contrary to popular belief, more than 80% of the rubbish found on K’gari is spat out by the ocean. After years of cleaning the island’s famous 75 mile beach, collating data and trying to divert marine debris from landfill it could be said that we are experts.
The Keep K’gari Clean project draws on this knowledge base and is designed to be a programme that belongs to the community.
