I am competing in NAMP to raise money for adhd foundation; I choose the Adhd Foundation because this hits close to my heart, at the moment, Adhd isn’t recognised by the NDIS, which means to be diagnose or medicated is fully self-funded. As you can imagine, this can be a struggle for some people. Just getting to see a doctor or psychologist to be diagnosed can cost up to $1000 or more before you even start your medication . The Adhd Foundation is hoping to in future reduce this cost to insure others get the help, guidance and support they need to live with Adhd. Adhd isn’t a disease or a disability, i personally view Adhd as a superpower. Myself, my son, my partner and many of my friends and family have been diagnosed with ADHD, although we have some similar symptoms, none of us have the same copy and paste Adhd. Some are inattentive, some hyperactive and some, a mixture of both like myself, growing up I struggled with Adhd being undiagnosed , but now I thrive, using the full potential of my ADHD brain to push myself to achieve my goals, instead of constantly fighting them.
