Each year, Diggers Rest Primary School would like to identify members within our beautiful community that are impacted by illness and/or disability. Through education, awareness and fundraising, we hope to collectively support and become more inclusive of all people experiencing challenges.
This year, our Diggers Rest Primary School Student Leadership Team are extremely excited to raise critical money for the Royal Children's Hospital on behalf of Dexter Fielding and his family. Dexter is the baby brother of Bianca (year 3) & Thea (year 1) and has a rare condition called CCTGA and dextracardia. This basically means his entire heart is back to front and upside down, with the wrong sized valves everywhere. After 3 days of life, Dexter had heart surgery, then remained there for his first month of life. He was in and out of the hospital constantly for the first month. Dexter is now stable but he is constantly monitored for another huge heart operation (or several) in his future. The Royal Children's Hospital has been overwhelmingly supportive of Dexter and his family and all employees there can not be thanked enough.

An absolutely incredible hospital, thank you for everything you do for sick kids and their families!
