Thanks for visiting my Fundraising Page for Oscars100 The Archie 2023!
The Archie is a 50k running event which starts at Mount Buller village, heads down to the bottom of the mountain and along the Howqua River (with many river crossings) before the long slog back up to the summit of Mount Buller and down to the finish line. It's going to be tough going, and I'll be carrying about 6kg of mandatory gear, including food and water... and there's a good chance I'll finish in the dark despite starting before dawn.
The event is organised by a charity, Oscars100, which supports Irabina Autism Services and Mansfield Autism Statewide Services. These groups provide early intervention services for children with Autism across Victoria. I've seen how hard it is to get access to and support services in regional areas, so this is important to me.
